For those who don’t know, an Arnold Palmer is half lemonade, half iced tea. A sweet tea is a form of iced tea with so much sugar, it becomes almost syrupy. Of the five beverages, three of them have some variation of iced tea!
While you’re enjoying this Labor Day weekend, we wanted to give you some foodie options to thoroughly enjoy your picnics or BBQs. Let us know what your favorite drink is in the comments section.
Cucumber Salad: This is a classic vinegar cucumber salad a staple at picnics for decades. This one adds bell pepper for color and white balsamic vinegar for enhanced flavor.
Cucumber Pineapple Salad: This is a fantastic salad we discovered at the UMass Chef Convention this past June. The combination of pineapple with the cucumber makes it a bit hit.
Roasted Potato Salad: This no mayo salad has roasted onions and bacon. Our taste-testers didn’t leave any leftovers! We prefer it warm, but it’s also yummy cold.
Turkey Burger: One of our classic recipes, this turkey burger has about 1/2 serving of vegetables per burger. A touch of tarragon, zucchini, carrots and parsley all add flavor.
Buffalo Chicken Drumsticks: Lots of flavor and our recipe is on the lighter side so you don’t have to worry about fitting into your shorts.
Cod Cakes: Quick and easy to prepare, this recipe will take you back to the 1800s, cod cakes was a staple dish prepared over an open hearth. You can whip ’em up from your frying pan.
Orange Sherbet Cooler: A retro drink with just two ingredients. Your family will love how cool and refreshing it is.
Chocolate Beet Cake: Add the icing at the last second and this cake will tame the chocolate cravings. This recipe is sophisticated with a touch of coffee.
