Banning Bottled Water

Concord, Massachusetts became the first town in the US to ban the sale of bottled water.

This is a big deal. Amerians purchased 31 billion bottles of just water in 2006. On average we only recycle about 27% of those, the rest wind up in landfills and our ecosystem. The Boston Globe wrote a post about Concord’s Town Meeting passing the ban and the comment section is filled with vitriole from people ranting at “crazy liberals” passing “crazy laws.”
